Welcome to Team Canterbury Artistic Swimming
Artistic Swimming (Synchronised Swimming) is a sport that involves a combination of gymnastic and dance moves performed in the water and set to music. Athletes perform choreographed routines as teams, duets or solos. Artistic Swimming develops flexibility, strength, and water skills. In New Zealand, competition is governed by Artistic Swimming New Zealand (ASNZ).
Athletes can compete in regional - ASNZ South Island or North Island Championships and National - ASNZ New Zealand National Artistic Swimming Championships. Athletes also compete at club level. Selected athletes can trial for New Zealand National Squads with the goal of competing internationally.
Internationally, World Aquatics governs competitions including Junior World Championships, World Series Events, World Championships, and the Olympic Games.
